New Web Site

1 min read
Hi everyone!
It has been a very long time since I was on here! I hope everyone is doing well!

I recently finished my schooling for web design. As a result I created a new website called The Fairy Gathering.

thefairygathering.com/index.sh…

This is a place for fairy artists to have a gallery to help promote their work. I know how hard it is to get recognition and just to get out there. Take a look and let me know what you think! If you are interested in having a gallery take a look at the guidelines page.

thefairygathering.com/guidelin…

All the best,
Holly

Just a Warning!

3 min read
I know no one wants to hear about art theft but I found something that might be a potential problem to some artists. I'm not saying that there is definetly theft going on, but I want artists to look out for eachother and warn each other when something comes up. So this is me doing my part, as I don't have time to find all these individual artists.

This will take some searching through, and I just come across it here and there. Everyone knows I'm doing jewelry now, so I've been paying a lot of attention to the use of Polymer Clay. On Ebay and Etsy there are several sellers using photo transfer technique onto polymer clay. Which means any image printed can be made into polymer clay jewelry. Which also means that I have found a LOT of possible stolen artwork. Some with credit some without. I mention the some with credit because it still looks really iffy. So do yourself a favor and search those sites for your stuff, and any of your friends. I found simple searches of polymer clay mermaid (for example) will bring up a lot of items.

Please do not attack the sellers for possible theft, please just let the artist know, that way there wont be any problems, and it doesnt' help to insult those people. Especially if it turns out they have permission.

Thank you for looking! And good luck!

I was hoping by now that I would have new art to post. But of course i don't.
I have been really busy with jewelry commissions, which I'm thrilled with. I have also officially become my own business...just gotta figure out all that icky tax stuff.

But I also made an important decision. I work as a graphic designer, which I love, but in all honesty it gets harder and harder to pay the bills. So for the last few months I've been trying to come up with a new career, that I'm not going to hate. I explored every option imagineable.

Finally I decided I would go back to school for web design...never ever had I considered it. I guess I felt it was too technical and tough for me, but after making 2 websites, I figured it's manageable, and at least theres money available in that career. So 3 weeks ago I started an online certificate which will take me 15 months to complete. So far it is going well! But it eats more of my time then I'd like, so jewelry and art production are kind of snail like.

But this lack of creativity on my part has really helped me to appreciate the artists around me more. I get to see everyones work and enjoy it, and fully appreciate it, because I'm not running off to do tons of art myself.

I do appologize for my lack of being here, but I am faving peoples stuff whenever I have the chance!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a wonderful summer!

My new jewellery line has official launched and my website redone!!! Now you can buy prints and jewellery on my site. www.hollyedwardsart.com

I decided to open a new DeviantArt account. This will be for my jewellery only. I want to keep my visual art seperate from this...that way if you don't like one you don't have to look at it lol! The account is :iconhollys-art: check it out, I"ll be posting more soon!

I don't think you'll be seeing any new artwork from me for a while. I'm really busy right now, I'm trying to redo my website to be more user friendly. I was also looking forwards to launching my Jewellery line. However after having shown the sneak peek photos, on here and also sent to friends and colleages, all my necklaces, including the ones that weren't done, all sold. I am incredibly happy with that :aww:, I feel like finally for the first time I am successful from the beginning, and not having to do years and years of work to get noticed (as most or all of us feel with art). So with no product I have to wait till I have new stuff to launch my jewelery line, I'll post photos from the last 4 that sold, along with the 6 new ones I made today, which will be dry in a week lol!

But I look forwards to seeing everyone elses work on here. And I apologize for not getting back to people due to lack of time. But thank you to everyone who faved my stuff and has shown an amazing amount of support. I hope everyone had a great holiday!!

I just opened an Etsy account www.hollysart.etsy.com . I have some older nude works up for sale, I need the cash. But the real purpose for the etsy account is to sell my original creations in jewellery. Each one will be hand made and original. I'll post a journal when it's actually launched...it'll be a month or so, but I think people will like them :aww:
